After 2 days of heavy rain the weather cleared and we went down to Bondi Beach. The strong tide had washed sand up on to the promenade. The sea was still very rough and the water was a bit chilly but that didn’t stop the many surfers enjoying the waves.
Bondi, Sydney
Yesterday we left Melbourne and flew to Sydney. The flight was 3 hours. When we got there it was tipping it down. It rained all night and put out a third of the bushfires.
Today we went down to Bondi Beach to meet mummy’s friend Helen. It rained all night and most of the day. Me and mummy met Helen in Perth. I had a choc chip flavoured ice cream. We walked along the beach to North Bondi and we played in a play area but it rained so we walked home.

Another evening stroll
Tonight I took another evening stroll and walked along Flinders Street, past the station and towards Southern Cross Station, or Spencer Street Station as I had known it. This was the station I came in to when I used to commute into the centre for work, 11 or so years ago.
I then walked up and along Bourke Street bridge, following my old route to work as I headed towards my workplace at the Telstra Dome (now called Marvel Stadium). I remember the bridge but didn’t recognise the rest of the area so I assume there has been lots of new developments since I was last there. It was good to be back though. I enjoyed living and working in Melbourne all those years ago!
Evening stroll
The Australian Open
Today we went back to Federation Square and got some more free sun screen. Then we went back to the hilltop and went on the Sky Flyer 2 times. We got a free lanyard for our ticket. We also got some free chips. Then we went to the tennis park.
We played lots of tennis games. I also went on a ninja course and climbing wall where you could jump off. Sam went on a trampoline and zipwire as well. We also saw a PJ Mask show and got some more freebies. I went on stage for a tennis competition and Sam went on stage for a lego building competition.
We saw a Fortnite competition. There were lots of big screens and the winner got $100,000. In the game loads of people died at the last minute.
We walked over to the main tennis courts and saw some people play tennis. We saw some people dressed up as tennis balls.
We watched some the men’s finals tennis on the big screen (in the Margaret Court Arena). We left early and got a tram and watched the rest of the final at Federation Square. It was very late.
Melbourne street art
In the morning I went for a walk around the streets near our apartment to take a look at some of Melbourne’s street art. There’s some pretty good stuff!
Update: Just read about how ‘A group of people wearing masks spray-painted over street art‘ on the very street I took these pictures. I’m glad I took a lot of photos!
