Today we went kayaking. The water was clear and cold. It was fun but it made my arms ache. We saw mountains and the Wanaka tree.

Queenstown to Wanaka
Today we left Queenstown and drove to Arrowtown. We saw where Chinese miners lived when they were mining for gold. We also had a chocolate ice cream which was very nice.
We carried on driving and stopped at Cromwell for lunch. We went to a park and a play area and played in the sand and water.
We then drove on to Wanaka. We had sausages for tea. We then walked along the lake. When we got back to our holiday park it was really late.
Queenstown
Today we went up a mountain on a gondola and when we got to the top we could see the whole of Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu.
We went on a luge which is like going on a kart down a steep hill and skidding when turning. There were lots of steep turns and high drops and a tunnel. There was a red track and a blue track.
We also saw para gliders and I bought candy floss flavoured jelly beans at the shop and Martha bought orange flavoured jelly beans. Then we went to ‘Devil Burger’ for lunch and played by the lake.
At 6.15pm we got the shuttle bus back to the holiday park. Daddy cooked some chicken on the BBQ. It was nice 🙂
This day was FUN!!
Dunedin to Queenstown
Today we drove from Dunedin to Queenstown, stopping off at the (former) steepest street in the world, Ranfurly (with it’s Art Deco architecture), Alexandra, Roaring Meg (a turbulent stream driving a hydro electric power station) and the Kawarau Bridge just outside Queenstown, home of the first commercial bungy jumping site in the world.
Dunedin (part 2)
The Otago Peninsula
Dunedin (part 1)
Yesterday we went to the Otago Settlers Museum. We watched a video about the first settlers from Scotland to come over to Dunedin. We also saw an old penny-farthing. Then we walked to the railway station nearby and took some pictures.
Today we played on the beach near our holiday park and built bridges on the sand.
