A busy day!

Cannons Go BANG!

First, we caught the tram to Fort York. Next, we had a tour from a soldier around the fort. It was really hot! But the buildings were cool. There were lots of cannons and I saw a real one fire! There was a loud BANG! We also saw soldiers marching whilst playing music at the same time.

Next we went to the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM). We saw…

  1. dinosaurs
  2. turtle shells
  3. a bat cave
  4. woolly mammoths
  5. a giant squid
  6. totem poles
  7. a bee hive
  8. a moose
  9. fish
  10. magnets

and lots more!

I also did some drawing, magnetic art and got dressed up in a soldier helmet.

Shoes everywhere!

Finally, we went to a Shoe museum (Bata Shoe Museum)! We saw…

  1. big boots
  2. small boots
  3. medium boots
  4. basketball shoes
  5. fluffy boots
  6. hard boots
  7. snow boots
  8. smooth boots
  9. old boots
  10. new boots

CN Tower

Today we got the streetcar (tram) to the city centre and then walked to the CN Tower. When we got there, we went up the lift and got on the observation level. There was a glass floor which we laid on and jumped on! We downloaded an app where if you face the phone towards the buildings, it pictures them and labels them as well.

The tower is 553m high and was completed in 1976.

Afterwards, we went back down to an underground shopping centre where we went to McDonald’s and I got a cheeseburger.

Sports Day

In the morning we went swimming at the outdoor Olympic Pool near the beach. It was very cold but I got used to it. Sam had to do a deep water test before he could use the diving boards. He jumped off the small one and then he jumped off the 5m diving board!

We went to Greenwood Park in the afternoon. We went swimming again. It was sports day today and I won all my races against my mummy because she is so slow. I also ran around the ice rink where skaters skate when it is icy.

The second day

We woke up very early because of the jet lag – around 4am. After our breakfast we got ready to walk down towards Woodbine Beach, which was next to Lake Ontario, one of The Great Lakes. It looked like the sea because it is so big and we couldn’t see the other side.

We also played in a park near the beach where there was a water play area. This was nice because it was so hot and sunny.

Leaving home and arriving in Toronto

At Manchester Airport
At Manchester Airport

We got up at 5am to get a lift to Manchester Airport. We said our goodbyes to Auntie M. and got our luggage (8 bags) and went inside to catch our first flight to London and then another flight to Toronto.

Our flight to London was very short but on our next flight the plane was bigger and it had mini TVs. We arrived at Toronto airport at around 4pm local time (9pm UK time) so we were very tired.

We got a taxi to our accommodation and then went straight to bed.
