Today we walked around the city centre and went to the Picasso Museum. He painted people in his Blue Period and his Rose Period. He also painted Cubism. It is where you paint things from different angles all on top of each other. Picasso’s faces had eyes and noses and ears at the front.

Singapore, Chinatown
We flew from Sydney and arrived in Singapore late last night so we slept in.
When we got up we walked around Chinatown and went in lots of shops. We went to a local food court for lunch. I had chicken and rice and Sam had roast pork and rice from a famous Michelin star hawker stall called Hawker Chan. It was very nice. We waited in line for a long time. Then we walked around Chinatown some more.
Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge
Today we caught a bus then a train then a bus to Circular Quay. Then we walked up to the Sydney Harbour Bridge and then we walked across it. We got good pictures and views of the Opera House. Then we walked back across the bridge and to the Sydney Opera House. It was big and looked like shells. We took lots of pictures. Then we had an ice cream and we walked to the bus stop and got the bus and the train and the bus home.
After tea we walked to the beach and played there until it got dark.
Bondi, Sydney
Yesterday we left Melbourne and flew to Sydney. The flight was 3 hours. When we got there it was tipping it down. It rained all night and put out a third of the bushfires.
Today we went down to Bondi Beach to meet mummy’s friend Helen. It rained all night and most of the day. Me and mummy met Helen in Perth. I had a choc chip flavoured ice cream. We walked along the beach to North Bondi and we played in a play area but it rained so we walked home.
Federation Square and AO Hilltop, Melbourne
Today we went to Federation Square and we got lots of free sun screen and we had lots of goes on a game where we had to grab tennis balls. We won 6. Then we went to a park at the top of a hill near the Square. We went into the splash zone and we played with water guns. We also went on a ride called the Sky Flyer. We went on it 4 times.
(Note from parents: the Australian Open tennis tournament is taking place in Melbourne so there is lots of stuff happening around Federation Square at the moment. We got given lots of free sun screen today, despite it being cloudy and rainy! However, it has been hot and sunny throughout the tournament.)
Westport to Hanmer Springs
We left Westport and drove to Hanmer Springs. It was quite a drive through the mountains. Along the way we stopped off at a few places including at the same place we did 6 years ago.
(Note from parents: We did a trip to New Zealand in Jan-Feb 2014 when Martha was not quite 1 year old and Sam was 4. We were on the same road to Hanmer Springs and found the same stop that we did 6 years ago. The scenery hasn’t changed that much – still beautiful as ever.)
